Reflections on Sunday

I re-read Barack's letter to his daughters and was reminded why I like him so much. It is reassuring to have a president whose decisions will be guided by a love for them and a commitment to their future and the future of their world. Quite a contrast from the administration of the past eight years who made decisions driven by unregulated greed, corruption and power. Not a surprise that we're left with the enormous mess we now have. As a mom, the identity that guides all that I do, I am thrilled to know that such a powerful leader has his children as his motivator and guiding principle.

Saw the Liberty Bell today. And we drove the same route as Barack and Joe to DC. What energy around us. 500,000 people at the campaign Lincoln Memorial today. And what a wonderful dinner reminiscing aboujt the connections between this moment and JFK. Stacey"s dad was the first chairman of the Burlington VT dem party in the '50s when VT was a republican state (yes it was once republican). What a gift to hear his stories.
